I Hate Condoms

J and I haven't, er, connected in quite a while. Even before I started spotting I was afraid to do anything that might bring on spotting. So last night I decided it was high time we got back together. Which leads me to the title of this post.

First off, I must have missed some fundamental lesson in health class as to how to get the damn things on. It seems impossible to roll it down all the way. After about 3 tries we finally got it down far enough. Or so I thought.

Which brings me to the second annoyance: they are not comfortable at all. Maybe we didn't get it on far enough. Or maybe I was just not ready after so long. At any rate, our attempt ended with me in tears and J beside himself to know what to do. He said he didn't trust himself to pull out in time which is what we did after the last miscarriage. I guess he's been neglected too long this time.

So, he is now eagerly praying for ovulation because passing that event is the only way he's going to get any. I'm packaging up all the leftover condoms to send to a friend of mine who I know will use them. I'm done with them.

well, I don't have a whole lot of experience with condoms, but I do have a lot of experience with "connection" gone wrong. And it is not fun, especially since so much hope and love go into it and then come crashing down (not the love, but you know what I'm getting at).

I'm glad that you're done spotting and I am really hoping that things can move forward smoothly now.

You've had a rough time. I haven't commented a lot, but I've been reading and keeping you in my thoughts.

Condoms do suck plain and simple. Hate them too. How about some contact without the intercourse? You may already be. It can be helpful to you both in healing and reconnecting. We do this and have done this especially after miscarriages. Helps us get back in the groove with less fear.

Thinking of you.

The Today sponge is back on the market. I haven't used one in a decade (I have a diaphragm for contraceptive times), but I still recommend them. Go and good luck!
